Sid Dillon Chevrolet, a dealership serving Omaha Chevy customers, is proud to show off the 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500. The 3500 is the biggest and toughest pickup in the Silverado class, which is really saying something. Motortrend gave it the “Truck Of The Year” award, and rightfully so.
The 2011 Silverado uses a completely redesigned suspension that makes it sturdier and more capable than ever before. The fully boxed frame and all-new front and rear suspensions are the biggest reasons for the huge increases in Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings. The new independent front suspension allows each front wheel to react independently to rough terrain, helping keep each wheel in a vertical position and more firmly planted on the road.
Its Vortec 6.8-liter V8 engine produces 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade it to a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine and get 397 horsepower and an astounding 765 pound-feet of torque, the most of any Chevy full-size pickup. It has a maximum towing capacity of 17,000 pounds and a payload capacity of 5,724 pounds. There’s a reason Jalopnik.com called it “the most honest interpretation of the term ‘truck’ on the market right now.”

The Silverado 3500 isn’t all about power, there are plenty of safety features to go around. The Stabilitrak system monitors the driving situation at all times and provides optimal power to individual wheels as necessary. Working in conjunction with StabiliTrak, the Trailer Sway Control feature (included in the single rear wheel models only) senses trailer sway and automatically applies the truck’s brakes to help reduce sway and help maintain control.
The 2011 Chevy Silverado comes with GM’s renowned OnStar system. OnStar with the Directions & Connections Plan (standard on LT and LTZ for the first six months) includes Turn-by-Turn Navigation. Simply push the OnStar button and an advisor will download directions to the vehicle and an automated voice will call out every turn.
The brakes have been completely upgraded and now use larger rotors and calipers. With Intelligent Brake Assist, the calipers are preloaded. When the system senses a panic-braking situation, the brakes can be fully applied more quickly.
